Let's Discuss Week: Day Three

Hello again :) How's your week going so far? It's Tuesday, so it's almost hump day. Steph isn't having her Talk It Out Tuesday this week - but go check her out since she's my inspiration for this week. Love you Steph!

Today I want to know: what is your favorite and least favorite polish type and why? Jelly, holographic, glitter, duo/multichrome, creme, shimmer, metallic, frost, etc.

My favorite: any guesses? Come on, you should know this by now ;) It's a two way tie for linear holo and glitter. I love my work inappropriates! My least favorite is duo/multichrome, which might come as a shock to some readers, but isn't totally uncommon among nail polish fans, I've found.

xoxo,
Amanda

My favorite finish is a toss up between linear holo and duo/multichromes. I used to lean more towards the duo/multichromes, but am beginning to dislike them a bit.

Blegh, you can have them all as far as I'm concerned! ;) Linear holo is pretty hard to resist though...

I love metallics, shimmers and glass flecks. My least favorite would be frosty polishes. All those brush strokes ugh! I'm learning to like holos. Don't think they'll ever be my favorite though.

My favorite finish is linear holo, I've become obsessed with them lately! My least favorite would have to be frost, especially when it's a very brushstroke-y frost.

Hmmm... this is a tough one. I would have to say my favorite would be shimmer and creme. Glitter is a close third only because of the clean up. Otherwise it would have been a 3-way tie. My least favorite would be metallic. Not that I hate it, it's just not my preference.

Right now I'm turning more to cremes as my favorite and glitters as my least favorite. :gasp:

My favorites are glitter and glitter. And cremes. And glitter. And holo's.

My least favorites are duo-chromes and foils.

Gonna have to say the only types I really don't like are pearls/frosts because of the 80's + brushstroke sort of look lol... I don't know what it is I just don't like it. I do LOVE holos, flakies, cremes, glitter... I particularly like the look of China Glaze's 'Tronica' collection - it's sort of a combination of all things I like.

My favorite is glass-fleck & large-particle shimmer. I also adore glitter, but not the removal/poor wear time. Least favorite is frosts, of course. It drives me nuts that Wet n Wild keeps calling things stuff like "Eggplant Frost" when it's not a frost and it's maligning the good reputation of that gorgeous polish!

I'm completely a glitter gal...any kind of glitter makes me happy. My dream polish is glitter in duo/multi-chrome cuz I'm a dork. lol My least favorite is the creams...completely clashes with my personality.

I love linear holo (even scattered holo), shimmer, glitter, duo/multichrome, metallic and ok most polishes but the bane of my nail polish existence is creme. I try so hard to like creme but I just do not. I LOVE them on other people though. Right now I am wearing skull and glossbones and steady as she rose and I have flakies over them and I still am not feelin the cremes. Maybe next time I will put the essie luxeffects big chunky glitters over and I will feel better... but my next mani... will not be a creme finish.

I'd say my two favorite finishes are also linear holo and glitter.. but I SO love a good creme. My least fave? Definitely frost. They're so fugly and streaky.. I just can't help it. I loathe them.

Mandy, we're probably the same person. I'm just sayin'.

What don't you like about them? Just too boring? You have to have some cremes as bases for glitters!

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

Ahh, but they're a necessary in life! You need them to get a base for our beloved glitters sometimes!

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

Haha you are too much! Thank you for not verbally abusing me about my hatred for duochromes ;)

Well, we do kinda like have the same name... kinda.

I loved Tronica! I was so sad they got such a bad rep for being scattered holo when everyone wanted OMGs :(

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

But do you like glitter? It wasn't clear...

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

*gasp* Are you on the right blog?! ;)

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

I think shimmer is starting to grow on me... a little.

Seems like frosts are pretty unpopular! Color Club has a LOT according to transdesign.com, which is weird since I love Color Club usually

The only nail polish finish that I don't care for is frost. They are just horribly ugly in my opinion. Other than that I really like all other finishes. My favorites though are glitter, jelly, and holographic.

I don't think there is a finish I don't like.... well.. not entirely true.. I don't care to much for veeeeeery sheer finishes like the ones where you have to put on like 20 layers on their own. *cough Pure Ice Heart Breaker cough* Yeah those ones. However I do like to layer them on top of another polish. ;) My fave finish holos and Duos. ;D

well if I am using the creme as a base for glitter then maybe... but yeah to me they are not interesting. I did a cute creme mani for easter with different pastel colors and I konaded over them but again it was a more boring mani that I couldn't wait to change.

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

I don't really like sheer layering polishes... I have so many polishes to wear alone, nevermind adding on these sheer ones haha

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

Good choices! I guess frosts are REALLY unpopular haha

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

A little... close enough. Maybe if we both changed our names to Amandy.

Amanda, Nail Polish Enthusiast said...

I don't do skittle manis too often, so I always think they're super interesting! haha

Melissa White said...

Yes they are. I often use them as a base for the glitters on my nails and for nail art on my clients and those clients who do like the cremes.

Cute!

I love a good creme! It's my go-to finish :D I'm not a fan of frost though...just isn't right somehow...
