Hi all, back with some more opinion questions for you. Today I'm wondering: what's your go-to or favorite polish to wear? I know we all have our treasures (OMG collection, for example) but we don't wear those often to conserve them (or at least I don't). But what are your favorites that you wear often?
This is a tough question for me, since I won't let myself re-wear polishes until all my untrieds are gone (unless it's a color I need for nail art or an ombre, marble, etc.). I'd have to say, though, in general, I wear a lot of light pinks or purples. I usually find myself reaching for those, so I'd call that my go-to polish.
xoxo,
Amanda

I'm all about China Glaze's "Ruby Pumps" but it isn't always appropriate or go with everything. It's still my go-to polish tho. I have other glitters that I like - but that one is my favorite still.
In terms of colors, I would have to say that I tend to grab pinks and purples too. I just love them!! But recently, I've been wearing two polishes a lot. The first is Avon's Vintage Boutique. It's such a great neutral. The second is Brucci's Alexandra's "Hot" Gray. It's such a beautiful light gray color. Not very popular colors, I know, but they're my favorites right now.
Greys and whites are my usual go to colors. If I want more color it's usually Zoya Charla or China Glaze 108 Degrees.
I tend to go for pastel blues and greens. Revlon's Jaded, $OPI Whats with the Cattitude, and so on.
Also the Milani 3D holos, which I don't feel bad about using since I can still find them at CVS.
My three most-worn polishes (I keep track of this on my spreadsheet) are Color Club Ms. Socialite, which is like, all I wore one summer, Revlon Midnight Affair, and China Glaze Ahoy.
I'm like you , I don't let myself rewear polishes as long as I have untrieds, lol. I generally go for blackened colors. I love the ubber dark blues, greens, etc.
This year, the SH strips have been my go to--does that count?
this is a hard question since I have so many untrieds... but I was putting OPI Rent on quite a bit there for awhile. I need to get a back up bottle. Since I have so many untrieds I am trying to get thru them before I use the same polishes again.
Rent is in my blog sale! Email me and I'll put it aside for you :)
Yes! Of course they count :) They look great on you too!
We would make a great pair to share a stash, since I usually go for the opposite! haha
That's a good idea to keep track! I only have ChG Ahoy of all those, but it's a beaut!
Good point, I tend to avoid using the ones that I'm afraid will become HTF, but Milani has those readily available just in case!
I wish I had your resolve to use untrieds before re-wearing a color. I have so many untrieds! But I'd have to say my go-to color has to be Zoya Yasmeen. It's such a gorgeous color!
I do love grays, myself. It's a great neutral... I don't think I have access to Bruccis though!
That's a classic, for sure. I just got that recently!
too bad I don't have paypal or I'd buy it from you. I can only send a money order.
if you are on MUA you can check swap history for my "good for it"-ness, I guess. my mua account is under Anya1976 as well.
I also keep track of how many compliments I get on a color. :D
China Glaze Heli-Yum. Hands down! I am in LOVE with it!
Opi Midnight in Moscow!
I really like butter London 'Yummy Mummy' and 'All Hail The Queen' but I'm a boring taupe sort of fan. I think Nicole by OPI 'Kim-pletely In Love' is my new go to.
My go to color of nail polish is grey and the two I wear most often are Sally Hansen Wet Cement and China Glaze Recycle.
I really need to add some of those brazilian polishes too!! amazing stuffs
Its not anything particular, any blues or greens will do for me. ;)
definitely something blue or purple, preferably dark :)
OPI Pandamonium Pink, OPI Princesses Rule!, China Glaze Below Deck, Sally Hansen Frutti Petutie - I am drawn towards the pinks!
And I just got Play with Peonies
So I feel like I will be wearing that one a ton! Sorry for the multiple posts!
Like you, I am still wading my way through my untrieds and may never be done at this rate! So I haven't re-worn a polish in...erm...a REALLY long time!
It's crazy because I look back on my posts to find these polishes I LOVED, but in all actuality, probably won't wear again with the way my stash accumulates. :(
Haha that's ok! I got Play the Peonies and loved the color but I didn't love the shimmer. It's still one I love, but I've been on a constant quest to find a version of it without shimmer! I love light pinks too!
I'm wearing Zoya Neeka right now, do you have that one? I bet it'd be right up your alley!
I remember before my obsession, er, hobby with nail polish began, blue and green were totally off limits for nail polish. I love blues now!
I love grays too! I need to pick up Recycle. I just bought Chick Polish's Gr8 Gray Owl, which is a perfect gray color. I also love Zoya's new pale gray!
I don't have that one!
Ughh that one is on my wish list on Amazon haha
It's not always easy because sometimes I'm in love with my polishes I've already tried and I worry they'll be unusable by the time I return to them. Thinking of a month challenge to use an untried every day, or a year challenge to do a mani featuring 2-3 untrieds per mani every week...
What about a swap? Shoot me an email and let me know what you think!
They're so gorgeous! I think I might buy their top coat (Hefesto) so I can make anything holo! May need two bottles!
Really!! If you do get access, they have some great colors. They're mostly in Rite Aid and Duane Reade.
I have a friend that travels to brazil often...I'd ask him to get some for me but I'm not sure he's willing to carry that much nail polish in his luggage. lol
a swap would work... but I don't think I would have anything you don't already have lol but we can talk :)
Unfortunately not. But it's definitely my cup of tea! :D
Definitely :) az270890@yahoo.com - I'm sure you have something I'd love!
Really? What's your most complimented?
Llarowe has them, although it's $10 a pop!
Orly Glitz & Glamour!
It is one of those things that is pushing me to go ahead and go back to seeing clients in the salon........easier to sell those to walk ins :P
Last year I managed to go without any repeats!! But I always find that when I can't decide what to wear I choose a red. It's so classic and sexy!
