Case of the Blahs & the Cure!

Hey all! I'm sorry for my blogging absences lately. It's been one thing after another. I have this whole huge explanation typed out and if you care, it's after the cut but I didn't want to bog you all down with a lengthy post if you didn't ask for it ;) Anyway, today's post is a quick swatch of Lynnderella The Present is a Gift over white which I did a couple months ago (hence my nubs) but it seems appropriate. We all have to remember to be thankful sometimes. Also, the cure to any blah feelings is glitter and Lynnderella does it so well.

I Made It In Time for Thursday!

Hey everyone - quickie post since I should have had this up this morning but I've been so busy at work this week that I haven't wanted to come home and type up anything. I must keep to my challenge with Amanda to try our untrieds! Confession time: even though I was the one who suggested we try our untrieds from brands we only had one untried from, I have literally none left! I really should have thought this through...

Anyway, for today's swatch, I have China Glaze Hanging in the Balance from the recent Cirque du Soleil collection. I absolutely ADORE the cremes from this collection and actually, the entire collection was really gorgeous. The cremes had a tricky formula for some people but I really liked them. This was one coat because I knew I was adding glitter on top...

And I added Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes which has... BABY STAR GLITTER. I don't even... I can't explain how much I love that tiny star glitter. It's so adorable I can't explain. Behold. Click to enlarge this picture so you can see the tiny stars and how cute they are!

We Survived The End of the World!

TGIF! I'm off work until January 2nd after today at 2 so I'm pretty psyched. Also...we seem to have survived the apocalypse if you're reading this. Win/win!

Today I have two lovely polishes in a lovely layering combination. The base is Maybelline Pink Sombrero which I got from Amanda's blog sale, so obviously it's close to my heart <3

The glitter on top is from Lynnderella's Halloween collection, Ghost of a Chance. It's iridescent glitter with sparse pastel glitters. I absolutely LOVE this.

Sorry for the dry cuticles... but not sorry at how much I love this. Happy Friday!

Lynnderella Pentimento

Hey there! Oops! I kind of forgot to blog this week... I usually write all of them up over the weekend and schedule them and I guess I got lazy and/or forgot. Sorry! I'll catch up tonight and tomorrow :)

Today's post is part of my challenge with Amanda and Madeline. This is another I've been saving for a rainy day in my folders but I love it! I wore this around Halloween. I love Lynnderella bottles, they're so classic in my mind with the original indies I owned.

I haven't a clue what this base color is, apologies. It's not the star of the show anyway, it doesn't really matter ;) I looked through my mad scientist notebook of recent manis and I never wrote this down so who knows at this rate! lol

I love this polish. I love all my Lynnderellas, actually. Don't hate!

Thank Blue to my Lovely Readers ;)

Hello there... *sheepish*. I know, I know. I've been MIA a lot lately. So much going on in my personal life, blah blah blah. Onto the polish and I won't bore you with the asinine details of my existence.

Anyway, this mani is sort of an homage to all my readers and followers. Despite my often prolonged absences recently, my followers have been increasing! Hello of you out there, and thank you for being my inspiration again.

I started off with Ulta Alter Ego. I definitely thought this was green, I don't know why. This is clearly a blue metallic polish and it was super easy to work with. Here's two coats and top coat.

Now, once I realized it was, in fact, blue, I decided it needed some freshening up, so I added some of my favorite stuff... glitter! And thus, my Lynnderella Thank Blue! mani came to be.

I used two coats of Thank Blue! and it was blingtastic. The metallic and glitter combo was perfect (IMO) and I was in love with this mani... however, I'm also a Lynnderella addict (evidence? See my last ten posts and the percentage of which contain Lynnderella - they are my antidepressant).

Just for good measure, I wanted to show you all the bottle from which Thank Blue came. You can really see all this polish has to offer in this shot!

Anyways, this mani can be summed up in one word: Sexual. Amanda knows what I mean.

Sparkle Sunday: Wet n Wild Sugar Coat + Some Magic

Hello there! How's everyone doing? As I write this, I'm waiting for my nails to dry since I've smudged and redone them about three times now. Sighhhh, nail blogger problems! It seems like every time I paint my nails, everyone calls or texts me, I have tons of doors to open, my bed needs to be made, etc.! 

Anywho, today I have a lovely polish I bought from Steph's blog sale (I've been blog sale hoarding lately). I got lots of goodies from her, so it's kind of surprising that the light pink is the one I picked, but I digress! You'll see the rest soon! (Hint: one of them is what I'm waiting for to dry ... that was an awkward sentence. Sorry.)

This mani was what I wore for my friend Cath's birthday at Hibachi. I wanted something fun and pretty, so I put on Wet n Wild Megalast Sugar Coat. This is a sheer-ish light pink, which built up decently. Below is three coats and there's lots of VNL but I don't care because I had bigger plans for it ;) (Ignore the poor cleanup on my pinky, I forget that it has a side sometimes...)

Then I added Lynnderella's One Nutty Fruitcake (oh, me and my multicolored glitters...) which is a mix of basically every color glitter except silver in a million shapes and sizes. Basically, it's pure love! I added two coats over Sugar Coat and this magic happened:

Chick Nail Polish Gr8 Gray Owl + Lynnderella Happy Holo-daze!

Hey gals. I'm showing you a brand that's fairly new to me that I ordered from online: Chick Nail Polish. I'm a sucker for grays, so I'm showing you the gray polish, which is called Gr8 Gray Owl (although I don't know the reason for the Gr8 part?) Anyway, here's two coats of it alone:

And then I added two generous coats of Lynnderella Happy Holo-Daze! on top for some sparkle, and wore this for a Christmas mani :) (Yikes, I am REALLY far behind...)

And there you have it! I love my Lynnderellas like children. What do you guys think?

Rainbows & Unicorns & Non-Christmas

Hey girls, sorry I'm running late today! Forgot I hadn't scheduled any posts after Christmas Day. For those of you who celebrate, what did you do? What was your favorite gift? I got a couple of helmers and a diamond necklace - I'm a lucky gal!

I'm making up for my lateness in GLITTER today :) You may all know my not so secret love for Lynnderella. She is basically the goddess of glitter, and I finally used her (IMO) greatest creation ever: The Glittering Crowd. Over 100 types of glitter all existing in one bottle = magic.

Anyway, before I get carried away... I did 2 coats of Zoya's Kendal from their new Feel collection as my base coat. Kendal is a purple-gray and the formula was really great on this. I could have gotten away with one coat. It's great at self-leveling and just being perfect!

Then I added two coats of The Glittering Crowd and here's the magic:

Round, square, hex, bar, micro, whatever type of glitter you can imagine is in this baby - and that's why I love it! Each nail was so unique and fun, I couldn't stop staring at my nails! The only qualms people tend to have about Lynnderellas are that the glitters hang off your nail sometimes, the bar glitter sometimes curls up (I had this problem, so it'd look like I had hairy nails), and the glitter can clump together (seen above). However, it's all part of the process. My biggest complaint in the brush:

All of my Lynnderella brushes are nothing if not wonky. Kinda stiff, narrow, always curved to the side. It takes some getting used to but I've figured out how to maneuver them ;)
