Sunday Funday: Candy Lacquers!

Hi ladies! I am so excited for this post! Like, Christmas morning as a seven-year-old excited, because I love this brand. If you follow me on twitter, you might have seen me excitedly tweeting about these as I swatched them last week. I stumbled upon these accidentally when I saw a post that Candy Lacquer's shop was open and checked it out. I was able to snag three:

As soon as they came in, I was in love! I love the labeling and the polishes themselves. Below the cut I have swatches of these three!

First up I have Love Letters, which is a clear base with silver holo diamonds, hexes, and bar glitter, and various sizes and shapes of pink and red glitter. Application was easy using the dabbing method, which I did two coats of for the swatches below over OPI Alpine Snow. No top coat in any of these pictures. This one reminds me so much of something Lynnderella would have created, which is a huge compliment in my book! This will be perfect for Valentine's Day!

Next up is City Girl, which contains all matte glitters: white microglitter, bars, hexes, and squares; black hexes and bars, and pink, blue, red, green, and purple multi-sized hexes. This was the one my attention immediately went to once I opened the package and I loved it on too! This is two coats applied over Revlon Taxi using it like a normal polish, with some moving around to get the glitter evenly dispersed. This was probably the easiest application of the three!

Finally, I have Over the Rainbow. This polish immediately made me think of the LGBT community and I think I might wear it for pride weekend to support my friends, and even clients, in this community. This contains the entire rainbow of multi-sized matte hex glitter and red and blue heart glitter (!!!!!!!!!), which happens to be my current obsession. Application on this was similar to Love Letters, I had to use a little bit of the dabbing method to get the glitter off the brush, but it came out really easily. I didn't have to do any fishing to get the hearts out, I just placed them on my nail. This is two coats over Essie French Affair, a light pink creme.

Bonus: bottle shot!
So what do you ladies think? IMO, Candy Lacquer has taken the place of Lynnderella in my heart (since Lynnderellas are no longer in my price range). They are high quality, easy to apply, and really thoughtful combinations of colors. I also appreciated that the shipping was quick considering how many orders she got in a short amount of time! They are available from Sandra's shop on etsy here but she's not currently open.

xoxo,
Amanda
